A boat that lives on a trailer
Most boats in Elk Grove don’t sit at a marina. They sit on a trailer beside the house, in a side yard, or in a storage lot, and head out to the Delta or the Cosumnes River area on the weekends. That makes the trailer the best place for us to work. We can walk all the way around the hull and reach the waterline without a dock in the way.
Our vans carry their own filtered water and power, so we don’t need a hose bib or an outlet. If the boat is at a storage lot, tell us which one when you ask for a quote. We can only work where the lot allows outside service, and some lots have rules about washing on site. If the boat is at a launch or a dock, the same rule applies: only where the launch or storage allows it.
You don’t need to be there while we work. Tell us where the boat is, make sure we can reach it, and we’ll send you a note when we’re done.
If your boat is parked in a subdivision with an HOA, check whether there are limits on boats or work in driveways. We’re happy to plan around them.
What we clean and protect
Every boat is different, so we put the plan together after we see it. The usual menu looks like this:
- Hand wash of the hull, deck and topsides
- Waterline cleaning to lift the tan film river water leaves behind
- Machine polishing of chalky, faded gelcoat
- Wax to help the gelcoat stand up to the summer sun
- Vinyl seat and cushion cleaning, plus light mildew cleaning
- Polishing metal rails and cleats
- Boat trailer washing, so the whole rig looks right
