Roseville sun and sprinklers
Roseville summers are long, hot and bright. Cars that park in the sun at work, at school or in the Galleria lot all day soak up a lot of UV light. Over time, UV light dulls clear coat and fades black trim.
Heat makes it worse. On a summer afternoon, a dark hood gets hot enough that bird droppings and tree sap bake on fast.
Sprinklers are the other problem. Many HOA neighborhoods in West Roseville and Morgan Creek water early in the morning, and cars parked on the street or the driveway catch the spray. When those drops dry in the sun, they leave hard mineral rings. A coating doesn’t make spots impossible, but it slows how fast they bond to the paint and makes them easier to wash away.
Choose 1, 3 or 5 years
We install P&S Detail Products coatings, and we’re P&S certified. Here are the three levels:
Not sure which to pick? Think about how long you plan to keep the car and where it parks. A car that sits outside in the sun all day gets more out of a longer coating.
- 1-year, from $499: an easy first coating, or for a lease you’ll turn in soon.
- 3-year, from $800: the pick for most commuters who keep a car for several years.
- 5-year, from $1,250: for a new car, a weekend car or anything you plan to keep a long time.
Garage, driveway or shop
Plenty of Roseville homes have a two- or three-car garage, which is a great place to coat a car. The paint stays out of direct sun while it cures, and dust stays down. If shade is hard to find, you can bring the car to our shop instead.
Plan on most of a day. The polishing step takes the longest, and we give you a time estimate with your quote.
After the coating, a regular wash keeps it working. Our maintenance plans use coating-safe soaps and methods, so you don’t have to think about it.
Many plan clients in Roseville start with a full detail, add a coating, and then let regular visits keep it in shape. It is the easiest way to have a car that always looks cared for.
Caring for a coated car
A coating works best when you wash it the right way. You don’t need special tools or a lot of time. A few simple habits help it last its full life:
- Hand wash with a pH-neutral car soap every one to two weeks
- Wash in the shade or early in the day, not in the hot afternoon sun
- Rinse off bird droppings and bugs within a day or two
- Dry with clean, soft microfiber towels
- Skip brush tunnel washes
- Park in the garage or shade when you can
