Odor Removal
in Roseville, CA

A smell in your car is coming from something you can’t see. We find what’s holding it, clean it out, and then treat the cabin with our odor bomb, so the car smells clean when you open the door in July.

Odor removal is a cleaning job

Sprays and hanging fresheners put a new smell on top of the old one. When it wears off, the old one is still there. That’s because odors live in materials: carpet padding, seat foam, the headliner, a film on the glass.

So we start with cleaning. Once the source is out, a cabin treatment takes care of what’s left in the air and in places we can’t reach by hand.

Match the fix to the smell

Different smells sit in different places, so each one needs a slightly different plan:

  • Smoke or vape: a film on the headliner, glass, vents and every hard surface. We clean all of them, not just the seats.
  • Dog smell: hair and oils in the carpet and seat fabric. The hair comes out first, then shampoo and extraction.
  • Spilled milk, juice or food: soaked into carpet and padding. Hot-water extraction pulls it back out.
  • Gym gear and sweat: seat fabric and the cargo area. Shampoo and steam do most of the work.
  • Musty or earthy: usually water. We look for wet carpet before anything else.

Our process

Find it, clean it, clear the air.

Each smell has a source. Clean the source and most of the smell goes with it.

01

Sniff and search

We find where the smell is strongest and look for spills, hair, stains or damp spots.

02

Remove the source

Vacuum, shampoo, extraction, steam and wiping of the surfaces holding the odor.

03

Treat the cabin

The odor bomb fills the closed car and reaches vents and seams.

04

Air it out

We open the car up, check the result and hand back the keys.

Where the odor bomb comes in

After the cleaning, we use an odor bomb. With the car closed, it fills the cabin and reaches the vents, seams and fabric that a towel can’t. Then we air the car out before you get it back.

It’s a $99 add-on to any detail. It works best on a clean interior, so we usually pair it with an interior detail. If dog hair is part of the smell, our pet hair removal comes first.

We also clean the parts of the car that people forget. Floor mats, seat rails, the trunk lining and the spare tire well can all hold odor. So can the cabin air filter, which pushes air through the vents every time the fan runs. If yours looks dirty, we’ll mention it so you or your mechanic can replace it.

Why Roseville heat makes it worse

On a hot Roseville afternoon, a car parked in an open lot by the Galleria or at the office gets much hotter inside than it is outside. Heat pulls odor out of fabric and foam, so a smell you barely noticed in spring can fill the car by August.

That heat is also why spills turn sour so fast. A cup of milk tipped over on the way to school can smell bad by the end of the day. The sooner it’s cleaned, the easier it is to get out completely.

Commuters see a version of this too. Coffee drips, fast food bags and gym clothes left in the back seat during a long week on I-80 add up. A quick clean on the weekend stops a small smell from soaking in.

Buying, selling or returning a car

Smell is one of the first things people notice in a used car. If you just bought a car from a smoker or a pet owner, a deep clean and odor treatment can make it feel like yours.

If you’re selling, trading in or turning in a lease, a fresh-smelling cabin makes a much better first impression. Book a few days ahead so there’s time to air out the car fully.

Leased cars are worth a special mention. Smoke and pet odor can lead to extra charges at turn-in on some leases. Check your lease terms, and give yourself time for a deep clean and treatment before the return date.

What to expect

Most odors drop a lot or go away once the source is cleaned and the cabin is treated. Years of heavy smoking can take more than one round. A musty smell caused by a leak will come back unless the leak is fixed, and if we find signs of mold, we’ll talk with you about our mold cleanup instead. We’ll tell you what we think is realistic before we begin.

FAQ

Odor Removal questions

How do I know what’s causing the smell?

Tell us what you notice and when it’s worst. Smells that get stronger in the heat or after rain are good clues, and we look for the source during the visit.

Does the odor bomb leave a perfume smell?

It’s a treatment for odor, not a cover scent. We air the car out before you drive it.

Can you get cigarette smell out of a used car?

We can usually reduce it a lot by cleaning the headliner, glass, vents, seats and carpet. Heavy, long-term smoke may need a second round.

Is it safe for my kids and pets?

We air the cabin out fully before handing the car back. If anyone in your family is sensitive to cleaning products, tell us when you book.

How much does odor removal cost?

The odor bomb is $99 as an add-on. The rest depends on the cleaning needed, which is often an interior package.
