Detailing Packages
in South Lake Tahoe, CA

Refresh, Renew and Reshine are our three full-detail packages, and each one adds to the one before it. In South Lake Tahoe, the right pick often depends on the season and how the car lives: daily driver, cabin car or guest car.

The three packages, side by side

Every package cleans the inside and the outside. The higher you go, the deeper the work. Prices are for a sedan, and we do every package on site at your home, cabin or rental.

  • Refresh Detail, $199, about 2 hours: pre-rinse, foam cannon, hand wash, air and towel dry, rims, tires and tire shine; full vacuum, all-surface wipedown and windows
  • Renew Full Detail, $395, about 4 hours: all of Refresh, plus bug removal, clay bar, trim and plastic shine and wax; carpet and upholstery shampoo and extraction, steam cleaning, a deep clean of every surface, leather and plastic conditioning and a full window detail
  • Reshine Detail, $599, about 6 hours: all of Renew, plus a step-one machine polish of the paint

Match the package to the season

Tahoe cars get dirty in two very different ways. Winter brings slush, sand and de-icer. Summer brings dust, pine pollen and sap. The best package often depends on which one you’re cleaning up after.

At the end of ski season, most cars need a Renew. The carpet has soaked up a winter of wet boots, and the lower panels have a crust of road film that a quick wash won’t fully lift. The clay bar pulls out what’s bonded to the paint, and the shampoo and extraction go after the salt lines on the floor.

In early summer, after the pollen has blown through, a Refresh is often enough for a car that was cleaned in spring. In fall, before the first snow, a Reshine is a smart way to start winter with smooth, polished, waxed paint that grime has a harder time sticking to.

Our process

Pick your package in four questions.

Winter grime or summer dust: the right package depends on what you’re cleaning up after.

01

What season is it?

Coming out of winter usually means Renew. A summer clean-up after spring care is often a Refresh.

02

How do the floors look?

White salt lines or ground-in sand need shampoo and extraction, which starts at Renew.

03

How does the paint look in the sun?

Fine circles or a flat, dull color mean it needs polishing. That’s Reshine.

04

Who drives it?

A cabin car or guest car that stays fairly clean can often get by with Refresh between bigger details.

How the car is used matters too

A lot of vehicles here don’t live like a normal commuter car. Here’s how we usually point people:

  • Full-time Tahoe driver with ski racks and a dog: Renew, two or three times a year, with a Refresh in between
  • Second-home car that sits for weeks at the cabin: Refresh when you arrive, so you start the visit with a clean car
  • Car kept at a vacation rental for guests: Refresh between stays, and a Renew at the start and end of each season
  • Truck or SUV you just bought and drove up the hill: Reshine, to clean out the last owner and polish out their swirls
  • Getting ready to sell or trade in: Reshine for the best first look

What we’ll tell you honestly

A package can only do what it includes. Refresh doesn’t shampoo carpets, so it won’t pull out old salt stains. Renew doesn’t polish, so it won’t take out swirl marks. Reshine’s step-one polish removes most light swirls and brings back gloss, but scratches from a snow brush or ice scraper that catch a fingernail may only get lighter. If your paint needs more than one step of polishing, we’ll quote it separately.

Times are for a sedan in normal shape. A cabin full of sand, a cargo area lined with dog hair or a car that hasn’t been cleaned since last ski season will take longer. We look first and tell you how long we expect to be there, so you can plan the rest of your day, or your drive home.

If we think a lower package will do the job, we’ll say so. You don’t need to buy more than the car needs.

Trucks, SUVs and add-ons

Mountain driving means a lot of all-wheel-drive SUVs and pickups, and those are priced by size. Roof boxes, ski racks and running boards add surface and time. Send us the make and model and we’ll confirm the price before you book.

Every package is done where the car is parked. We bring filtered water, power and a shade tent, so we don’t need a hose, an outlet or a working spigot from you. A garage or a flat driveway is ideal, and we can work at most cabins and rentals as long as we can reach the car.

Some jobs need a little extra. Hardened pine sap or tar is a $100 add-on, heavy pet hair is $100 per hour, and headlight restoration is $75. You can see every add-on on our pricing page. If you only need the outside, our exterior detailing levels cost less.

FAQ

Detailing Packages questions

Which package is best after a Tahoe winter?

Usually Renew. It adds clay bar and wax outside, and carpet shampoo and extraction inside, which is what pulls out winter salt and sand.

Can you detail my car at a vacation rental?

Yes, as long as we can reach the car and the property allows it. Tell us where it’s parked and how to get in, and we’ll send photos when we finish.

Do I need to be there?

No. Many Tahoe owners aren’t in town during the week. We just need access to the car.

Why does an SUV cost more than a sedan?

There’s more paint, glass and carpet to clean, so it takes longer. We price by size and confirm before we start.

Will the Reshine remove scratches from my snow brush?

Light scratches and swirls usually polish out well. Deeper ones that catch a fingernail may only get lighter, and we’ll show you which is which.
