What Tahoe does to an RV
At about 6,200 feet, the sun is strong. Fiberglass and gelcoat on an RV fade and turn chalky faster when it sits outside. Decals and rubber seals dry out. A wax or sealant after a wash slows that down.
Winter is hard too. Snow on the roof and sand from treated roads leave grime on the lower panels until spring. Wheels pick up brake dust on long mountain grades, and it bakes on if left.
Pine trees are everywhere here. If your RV is parked under them, it will collect sap, needles and pollen. Needles pile up on the roof and in slide-out toppers. Dry summers add a layer of fine dust to everything. Fresh sap comes off well. Old, baked-on sap takes longer and may not come off fully without some risk to the finish, and we’ll tell you that first.
Where we can work
We can detail your RV at your home, a cabin, a vacation rental or a storage lot in South Lake Tahoe, Meyers or Stateline. We need the property owner or lot to allow outside service. Please check before you book, and send us the location.
We bring our own filtered water, so we don’t need a campground spigot or a cabin hose. If a lot has gate codes or set hours, share them when you book.
If you own a cabin here and the RV stays up between trips, you don’t need to be there. Tell us where the RV is and how we can access it, and we’ll send photos when we’re done.
Before the snow and after the thaw
Fall is a smart time for a detail. Before the RV goes into storage or sits under snow, we clean the outside and inside so dirt, bugs and food crumbs don’t sit all winter. In spring, we wash off the winter grime and get it ready for the first trip.
Clearing needles off the roof before winter helps it drain and makes cracked sealant easier to spot. We can also detail the RV at the end of a summer stay, before you leave it for the season.
Towing with a truck or SUV? We can detail that the same day. See our mobile detailing packages.
After a stay at the lake
A few days at a campsite or by the lake fill an RV with sand, pine needles, crumbs and dust. The galley and bathroom need a proper clean before anyone uses them again.
Inside, we vacuum floors and upholstery, wipe down cabinets, counters and walls, clean the galley and bathroom surfaces, wash the glass, and shampoo carpets or seats when they need it. An RV that has been shut up for months can smell musty. If you see mold, let us know when you book, since mold cleanup is quoted separately once we see it.
