Why regular washes matter more in the mountains
De-icer and sand don’t wash off on their own. They cling to the lower doors, wheels and the underside of the car and stay there until someone rinses them off. A car washed every couple of weeks in winter never builds up a thick layer. A car washed once in April has carried it for months.
The same is true in summer. Pine sap is easy to remove when it’s fresh and hard when it has baked on for weeks. Pollen and dust that sit on the paint get ground in by the next quick wipe. Regular visits catch all of it while it’s still easy.
There’s also the money side. A car that’s cleaned often never needs a big deep clean to undo months of buildup. When you sell or trade it in, the paint and interior show the care.
Inside, regular vacuuming keeps sand from working deep into the carpet, and a wipedown keeps the salty film off the door sills and floor mats.
Made for second homes and rentals
Plenty of cars in South Lake Tahoe sit at a cabin while their owners are back home. A plan means the car is clean when you arrive, without you having to call anyone. We text you when we arrive and when we finish, and we can send photos.
Owners who come up for a ski week or a summer month often like the visit timed just before they arrive. Tell us your plans and we’ll try to line the schedule up with them.
Vacation rental owners and property managers can use a plan to keep a guest car ready. Tell us the property and how we get in, and we’ll keep the car on schedule between stays. If you look after several properties in Tahoe Keys, Meyers or Stateline, ask about setting up visits for each one.
Winter visits and weather
We keep plan visits going in winter when the weather allows. A garage makes cold-weather visits much easier, and we bring our own water and power. When a storm is coming or the roads are bad, we move the visit to the next good day instead of washing a car that will be covered in slush an hour later.
Winter visits focus on what matters most in the cold: the lower panels, wheels, door sills and floor mats, where de-icer and sand build up fastest. In summer, we pay extra attention to fresh sap, pollen in the cowl and dust in the vents.
If you only use the car part of the year, tell us when you sign up and we’ll talk through a schedule that fits.
Start clean, stay clean
A plan visit is built to keep a clean car clean. It won’t undo a winter of buildup. If the car hasn’t had a full detail in a while, we start with one, usually a Renew Full Detail, and the plan keeps it at that level from there.
If your car has a ceramic coating, a plan is the simplest way to care for it. Gentle, regular hand washes keep the coating slick, so de-icer and pollen keep rinsing off the way they did on day one.
